Get to know Miss Jordan:

Jordan is one of the original students of the dance academy! She has been with the dance school since 2010, so for over 10 years!!

She has gone from student, to Headgirl, to teacher – all within her time at AE. Her life revolves around AE so much that she is constantly talking about it to her family and friends! She prides herself in the pieces that she teaches, as she wants to show the world (but for now she will stick to showing her mum – who adores watching all the students at show & tells her how much everyone has grown through dance!).

Where did she train?

Jordan started her dance training at Street Stars when she was 9 years old. After joining the only class available at the time and she fell in love with dancing, after playing football for so long! As the academy grew and classes were added, she joined every single one! She went on to train at The Dance Mill, which was also known as Old School Dance Works, where she trained for 2 years and received an Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Dance.

What is her biggest achievement/experience in the industry?

“I have had quite a few experiences in the industry, from performing at weddings, galas and so on… but my biggest achievement was definitely performing for Louisa Johnson at Wembley Stadium in front of 60,000 people with the other AE students! We also performed for Tokyo Myers at the Olympic Stadium!”

“Another achievement of mine is becoming a teacher, so that I can spread my love of dance and performing to young and admiring stars. I adore being part of the AE teaching team, it has given me so many opportunities to progress in the world of teaching dance.”

What do you love about AE?

Jordan says she loves how much of a family we all are, with the staff constantly supporting each other, always helping provide advice or suggestions. She also says she loves how much the students adore one another, and how they work so hard. She treats the children like they are her own and some of the students have expressed that they see her as an older sister/role model.

Why dance is important to Miss Jordan…

Dance is important to Jordan as it is her passion! She would travel the world performing anywhere and everywhere she possibly could, however, she chooses to teach dance to anyone willing to learn. She still gets to follow her dreams in sharing dance with the world! She also gets to live vicariously through her students who have chosen to enter dance training to explore careers in the industry.

Random fact!

Miss Jordan is a pretty good painter and claims that she can hyper-focus on a painting for hours but then will not touch it again for months (because she has forgotten all about it) and when she rediscovers it, she will then start again… and the cycle continues!
